With three distinct, yet interwoven story threads, each with their own pair of protagonists for either solo or co-op play, both offline and online, not only will Resident Evil 6 deliver both different perspectives and gameplay styles but, with the introduction of the innovative Crossover mechanic players will be able to team up and share the horror. At key moments during the game, up to four players can join together online to tackle a specific situation, with some stages seeing the usual partnerships swapped to further increase the depth of gameplay.
Derek Simmons wanted to be Ada Wong’s boyfriend.
You remember Ada Wong, right? She’s the spy who first showed up in Resident Evil 2 and managed to make off with the G-Virus, but not before developing a bit of a weird relationship with series protagonist Leon S. Kennedy. Since then, she’s shown up wherever Leon has, to both interfere and help out. Previously, Wong worked for a shadowy group of which Albert Wesker was a part, but Wesker’s dead now, and she needs new stuff to do.
Meanwhile, there’s Derek Simmons, National Security Adviser. Simmons is a central antagonist in Resident Evil 6, especially in Leon’s campaign. He’s the big bad that you run down and kill through the course of Leon’s five chapters.
But when you get to Chris Redfield’s campaign and that of Jake Muller, things get weird, and it starts to seem like Ada Wong is the primary evil person behind the various biohazard outbreaks in the game. So what gives?
As is revealed definitively during Ada’s campaign, there are actually two Ada Wongs. The one you play as, who wears red, is the original Ada. The one in purple is a clone, created by Simmons.
